I am trying to put a boost guage on one of my manifolds to measure drive pressure. I have 10ft of 3/8 copper tubing that i am going to coil to eliminate some of the heat going to the guage. my problem is i need a way to go from 1/8th npt male to the 3/8 copper and on the other end have a 1/8 npt female. anyone know if this is possible and where to get the fittings?

why not just get a 4' - 5' section of brake line, 1/8 npt fittings are already on both ends. Can be gotten at most any auto part store

I found the heat does not travel too far.

1 foot of aluminum tube with NPT fittings works well (Summit)

The gases don't "travel" up the pipe, just a pressure wave. If you had a leak in the fitting where the sensor goes, you'd have problems.

Before and after pieces of brake line. This is what I made my DP gauge setup with.

FYI, a full metal line to the gauge inside (at least on mine) acts like a stethascope and will transmit engine/exhaust noise to the inside of the truck. I've heard you can use some normal nylon line after the line goes inside to reduce the noise some (still there though). But as Pat said, make sure the line is absolutly leak free metel or not or there will be hot gas flow present and that could get ugly fast! I've pretty much gotten used to the sounds from it and it can be usfull to diagnose some things as a benefit! EX: when i have a lean rattle, it became very apperent from the sound correlaation to the gauge noise. I'm prolly going to split some rubber vaccum hose and fit it over the line to see if it helps any. I have mine mounted in my overhead console with a boost gauge, pics in my album if ya wanna see! mines all custom made by me:D

Exactly
mine is only 8" long and doesnt melt the hose, however mine has frozen before in the winter from condensation
