My dad went out of town. before he got to were he was going his low engine oil pressure light came on then went off. he drove a lil farther and when he got to his location he had oil all over the engine and the under carage and the tailgate. when the light went off he held 30 psi (per oem guage) oil pressure. he cant find a leak and says it is only a lil oil on the dipstick left. he aslo said it smells a lil like fuel. what might it be i am going down sat and might bring a trailer to tow it back. Any input would be great. and if anyone knows any one who could help he is in Hilmar CA.

thank you everyone
everyone has always been a great help.....

Undercarriage covered in fluid is a classic sign of fuel in oil as are the other things you describe. Sorry. My bet is the injector(s) went.

Pull the dipstick and if it's way overfull, and the coolant level is good, then it's likely fuel from possibly the injectors, an injector fuel return line or one of the fittings for the return line or the high pressure fitting on the injector nozzles.

Collant level is good. But only a lil oil reading on the dipstick. I thought injectors also but wouldnt that fill the crank case with fuel and push oil out but the crankcase would be full of fuel right.

Correct

Then the oil/fuel would be pushed out the crankcase vent

My truck did the same thing and blew oil/fuel mix all over my friends truck behind me. Ended up replacing my injectors. It sucks.
