K guys I posted this in my build thread but figured I'd start a new one as I need any input from the professionals on this. I want to order some parts this week as Truckfest is approaching quick. Right now I'm running a Comp turbo 94/106mm 1.23ar over a 72/75mm 1.15ar with a 44 or 46mm external gate. I figured the exhaust housing on the high pressure charger was going to be too big but decided to at least try it out first. It's definitely too laggy for my taste so I want to swap out to a smaller housing. These are my options I have to use:

.58 T4 divided
.68 T4 undivided
.70 T4 divided
.81 T4 undivided
.84 T4 divided
.96 T4 undivided

These are my first set of compounds that I have ran so I have been doing a lot of research and it looks like input from people who have had experience is the best way to decide. I still tow a decent amount and want smoke output the lowest I can get, so I would like to get the smallest possible housing to help with driveability, but I don't want to max out my gate and risk too high of drive pressure. I personally called Comp turbo and the guy there, Justin, recommended the .84ar. I was hoping there was some slick math I could do to figure out housing and gate flow, but no such luck. Any help or suggestions??

BTW I'm running 60% over injectors with a 1056 converter at 5500ft elevation and the DA at my track seems to average over 9000ft on a regular basis.

It was just the kit I bought. I did expect lag but its too much for me. Doesn't spool till about 2800-3100rpms. Doing 80mph down the interstate it runs between 1000-1300egt just cruising and zero boost.

I understand that but it seems like there are plenty of T-4 compound sets out there that spool just fine? I may be wrong though.

This is true but you may have to run a very loose torque converter to get it spool how you want, I'd rather run a t3 and have a tighter torque converter and not have to rev it on the street .

Makes sense. I'm still going to stick with the T-4 as I like how everything is plumbed with the gate. I just figured I would try my best to optimize the compounds before deciding to rip out the converter.
