Hi guys- sorry I dont mean to double post here and DP, but I need help ASAP and I figure my thread on DP might get lost among "my truck wont go over 2000rpm" threads.

Need a complete gasket list for an LLY. I might have lost some when I tore mine down, but im not sure which ones. I might as well buy all of them and return the ones I dont need. Also, any place besides the dealer to get them cheap? I wish GM just sold a "master rebuild" gasket set.

Or maybe just a list of essential gaskets to get the short block together...then I can worry about the others (oil cooler, water pump, etc) as I need them.

thanks everyone
Ben

The tube I got from the dealer comes out black.

The only gaskets are head gaskets, Water crossover to head gaskets, water pump to oil cooler gasket, oil cooler to engine adapter plate, oil pump to pick up gasket, and turbo drain gaskets. You will want new orings for the front cover and back cover to block. Misc fuel system seals.

Like Pat said not many gaskets.

Dont forget the front and rear crank seals. You need a tool to install them. I made my own. I can mail them to you if you want to try them.

John the front and rear covers are RTV'd arent they? What was the part number on your RTV? Did it say Isuzu on it?

I also broke one of the plastic clip things on teh injector return lines.

The RTZ spooge says Isuzu right on the tube.

Spooge GM #97720043
Front Crank Seal #97209341
Rear Crank Seal #97209342

Although Isuzu is making this motor worldwide (so service tech claimed) we can only get parts from GM and GM doesn't offer a master re build set??? Well nobody i talked to had a clue, perhaps you will find a better dealer who can dig around a little. I did have better luck with an ISUZU truck service center for stuff then GM.

This is what i used. Black silicone (oil pans), high torque white silicone (intake, front and back covers) All the o-rings i have heard can be secured with a metric o-ring set. I walked over to the trans rebuild table and picked up whatever i needed and never ended up buying 1 o-ring. I originally thought they might be special...from GM...:joker:

word of advice? dry fit all the oil pans and covers to determine best sequence of install. Make friends with the local trans shop so you can dig through the left over rebuild boxes and scavenge all your o-rings.

the oil cooler needs a different stuff than that to go around where the o-rings are and you are suppose to let it sit for 24hrs before putting oil to it

I have been writeing down all the O-rings that ive used and will post when im done....For futre reference most of them i could just reuse BUT i have a kit from work so i just been swapping them out

Might wanna buy an assortment of o-rings too.

I purchased a metric o-ring kit that has covered most of them

lb7 owners might want to get new o-rings for the Y-bridge if they need them ( they are square)

I replaced the guts of the waterpump and it came with a new ring also

is it hard to make the tool to install the front and rear main seals? Thats the only thing Im confused about right now.

After beating around the bush for 2 weeks the machine shop is finally done with my stuff today, I have my last exam for the year today so I will start putting it together tonight. :D

Im gonna run it on one battery for now, and worry about relocating the other battery when I get home. I also need to pull my trans soon; the converter is shot. Mike thinks some fins are starting to bend. I drive around in tow/haul most of the time (because I like it) so it doesnt really matter tho.

Ben, IIRC I posted pictures and maybe even drawings on the old site. If you'd like a copy of the Acad drawing then PM me your email.
