I am new here, but not new to mechanical work. So, I am asking for helpful answers. I have an 06 Silverado Duramax 4dr. 4x4. I had a starter installed at the dealer under warranty several years ago for this same problem. Anyway, every now and again the starter would just zing and not turn the motor over. It has gotten really bad and does it every time I get in the truck to start it. It will zing once or so and then start. I am sure it is missing a tooth on the flexplate. I am looking for suggestions on what brand flexplate to buy? Should I just get a GM, or something else. The truck is bone stock and has 114k. Thanks for help in advance.
