Just out of curiosity, wondering if you all had a suggestion on batteries. I would like to get Optima, but I can't justify the extra cost ... does anyone have a suggestion over the OEM, or just go with the OEM batteries?

Thanks for the input ahead of time.

It seemed like a big decision for me at the time; I NEED the truck to start after sitting in the bush for several days while we snowmobile.

I went to the local battery shop and went with them. They discount anything that sits on the shelf for 3 or 6 months, I bought the fresh ones. 20% heavier :thumb: than comparable batteries I found elsewhere. Fair warranty and good service. I don't have anything against Optima but don't need the vibration resilience myself.

Find you a CARQUEST as they sell the top line DEKA batteries for quite a bit less than you can get them from DEKA. It will just say CARQUEST next generation or whatever on it. Or if you want a AGM style battery like OPTIMAS, go with there NGT EXTREME battery from CARQUEST. They're available in a group 34/78 style for just under $200 and are top of the line in AGM battery technology(DEKA's same battery through them is about $250-300). SEARS sells the PLATINUM series which is also a AGM battery, but have had a history of problems with the side posts in them failing.
