I have a problem with my truck and the way it launches. The way I launch is psi creeps to 10psi then the second before it hits 12psi BOOM I launch and i cut good 60's but if I stay in the throttle any longer after 12psi it shoots to 16psi and I spin my front tires and wallah shitty 60's. Will an E-Locker allow me to launch at 16psi without spinning the front tires? Is it worth it? The price is around 1,000$ right?

You can find them for under $700. Someone posted a link a while back. I think it was dmaxlover.

Have you played with the timing in the area of your tune where you launch to try to lower boost?

Whats your 60's when you spin? Even when I spin I always cut good 60's

My best 60's are always good when there is little to no spin, when I spin the front tires is when high 60's like 1.70-1.74 happen otherwise im always in the 1.6's

1.7s......be glad! I cant cut anything better than a 1.79-1.8 last few times i was at the track. My best time is a 12.2 with a 7.8 1/8th and a 1.80 60'. Pisses me off to all hell.

i have been playing with the max fuel tables that reference vss and have been testing with limmiting the mm3 amount till i exceed 10 mph so far the truck is much more consitsant and easy to control as i have the same problem , but havent got it dialed or been to the track sence to see if the limmited fuel will slow my times/60ft down ,so it sho's promise but we will see something to maybe try ? so far it seems with the fuel limmited i can launch with much more rpm and boost and it leave softer but wont know till i go to the track , everthing i do seems to launch good on the street :D track = no bueno

A stock truck can spin:

2 tires, one front, one rear.
4 tires.

It won't spin 3 tires, one tire, or 2 tires on the same end of the truck. This is because the T-Case has no "slip", like a diff does.

So getting the same traction front to rear is important. That's why I run less pressure in the rears than the front. If my front tires weighed 2000lb and rears weighed 1500lb, I'd run 30 front, and 22.5 rear (same as weight ratio) to try and equalize traction.

The Throttle Base table is very powerful when it comes to launching. You can make very fine adjustments to maximum power output in the staging RPM areas.

You can also opt for some form of launch control. I haven't yet, but DSP5 has it, and you can make it with a DSP2 tune using a Hobbs switch (boost), window switch (RPM), or brake switch to control launch power.

As you go up in power, you'll notice the problems will occur not on the start line anymore, but as it goes into 2nd or 3rd, as first gear doesn't load the engine much. The only thing I've found that will fix that is more tire.

I launch based on RPM, not boost. Not saying it is the right way for everyone but I cut consistant 1.6s on a few different All Terrain tires. Looking back at logs after the pass I have seen where I launched at well over 20psi without spinning, without the E-locker engaged. My truck really likes second gear launches.

DrHolliday has posted up that he does the same, and he cuts consistant 1.66-1.69 60's on ATs as well and doesn't have a locker. Nothing fancy on suspension setup.

X2 on McRat's tire pressure ratio, although we haven't actually weighed the trucks to get it perfect I've always run about 10 more PSI up front.

I disagree. It is possible to spin two rear tires and one front tire. I've had people tell me that I had one front tire smoking when I launch, and I've verified it with rubber on the rocker on one side of my truck. The open front differential will let it happen.
