So long story short I got hit with some hail and need a new hood for my pickup, just curious what you guys think or what your experience is with like a ram air or cowl induction hoods, as far as Fitment or overall thoughts on how it would look on my pickup, or should I just say screw it and stick with the stock OEM HD hood.

Thanks

Wes

It looks like 2 of the 3 of us dodged it; I pulled under the leanto when that one blew through a week or so ago.

Wes, this makes twice you've been smoked by hail?

I'm in the same position except I was lucky and dodged that nasty hail storm. Sucks to hear man.

Yea it kinda blows, I was in Loveland when the storm hit and the truck was parked at home, oh well at least the wife's TBSS didn't get damaged

Different body style but I absolutely love my cowl hood. Fitment wise it wasn't bad at all but it's also not OEM...

What brand hood you using?

That would be the most ideal hood for me, I love the HD hood but still think it would be cool to have the HD hood with a ram air or cowl setup too. Ill do some searching on here to see if I can find that thread you were talking about. Thanks!

I'd be curious where everyone is buying body panels in general. I need a right front fender as well. My employee cost for a gm hood was like $330 if I remember correctly.

Yea Nate, I see your truck everyday, I work right off Sheridan and 60th there at xcel energy. Your hood looks awesome! As does your whole pickup. What hood do you have and is it a steel one?

What would you want for the factory hood? I assume its in pretty good shape?

Also what's your guy's input as far as the pro's and con's of a fiberglass or steel hood. As far as which is better besides the obvious weight difference.

Here is my hood. Suncoast Creations all fiber. Super thick and very sturdy. Functional Ram air.

Uses all OE hardware. Have had it for about 7 years now, still looks as good as the day I got it.

But it isn't cheap.
