Are National/BCA wheel bearings good quality? How do they compare to Timken? I realize most here rave Timken; however, I can get a competitive price and lifetime warranty with National/BCA.

I tried the cheap wheel bearing route once, now I'm replacing a unit not even 10,000 miles later.

Also, is there a trick to removing those 4x 15mm bolts? I started to round one yesterday with breaker bar and quit. They were soaked in PB Blaster too....

Thanks,

carquest is the only place other than the dealership i deal with. I have had good luck with the cheaper wheel bearing from them. I usually turn the wheel either way so i can get a 3/8s impact in there to take the 4 bolts out that hold it in.

I use an impact as well to get the bolts out. has always worked fine for me. As stated, turn the wheel to access them either. Personally I would stick with Timken bearings if it was me. i have tried just about all types and timken is the only ones I use now. The only ones that I have had hold up for long periods.
