Hey I got this piece and dont exactly know what brand it is etc.

looks like a mini spool

Are the two spiders locked by the spool in the center? Otherwise it looks like there are parts missing. There are bushings for the 2 side gears, but no gears.

Yeah it came with the truck gene said it was a locker but I thought it looked an awful lot like a mini spool...I think he must have meant locked as in solid

I'm not familiar with mini spools, could someone give an explation of what it does, and why its better than factory

A mini spool does the same as a regular spool except it retains your factory carrier...it locks it up and never unlocks just like if you welded it all up except it will actually hold up to abuse and can be reversed

No never tried it...talk about killing some tires

I have it from when the truck was a dedicated puller and didnt know exactly who made it or if it was a mini spool I've never seen one made quite like it
