Raced a guy last night just to see what I could do. Car was bama tuned, full bolt ons, tubular crosmember and a couple other little things. Traction was an issue for both of us... Didnt think it was to bad of a race. Headed to the track next weekend see what they will both do, when we hook(mustangs been 12.5). So hopefully high 12s in my truck!

If you have a lockup box there's no benefit to running on tow/haul correct?

at WOT there is no technically no benifit though its been said some guys run faster times with it on, some the opposite but mechanically, it will shift and at the same at WOT in normal mode or WOT in t/h

TX of course
I use TH anytime I'm on my race tune so it shifts better because and its use to the power and aggressive driving.

Converter locks sooner in t/h is only difference mine locks in 2nd in t/h amd at wot normally wont lock till top of third or 4th gear

but its not suppose to. at WOT, they are suppose to be the same shifting. mine works this way. runs the same times on either selection and locks up the TC at the same time at the top of 3rd when it shouldnt

I didn't really see any difference in the t/h being on when I was at the track. Will a lock up box make a big difference? I know when my converter is locked it freaking pulls! So I would think soo...

All I know about the lock up box is, my tires get greasy feeling in gears they wouldn't have before:woott:

Seriously though, even the wife felt the difference, she said it feels like it hooks up stronger and pulls harder, I fully agree, I was impressed that she made that deduction, as evident as it was. I now have bigger traction issues with my front tires while attempting boosted launches, and it feels as though there is more weight transfer happening, due to more tq making it to the wheels sooner, I would guess. All in all, I really like how the BT dieselworks l/u controller works, I'm still playing around with lock up delay programming to try and dial it in, but I think it's a valuable upgrade.

mike is that true in both the 5 and 6 speed?

yes, the TCM will command lock up in 2nd gear IF the RPM difference between the in and out of the converter is 600rpm slip or less. this is where the lock up box comes in handy as it can over rule that issue for guys making big power and having higher slip RPMs

i think guys that see a decent difference between the two is due in part to not letting the trans learn WOT in either mode.

Thanks. If I'm playing around at part throttle I do try to use tow/haul for the earlier lockup but at wot I don't mess with it. Just let the box do it's thing

correct shift points don't change but converter lock does for me that's it I need to log it to make sure it is if not ill get a lockup box
