Well the truck is at the chassis shop. 8.5 cert cage, 4 link and narrowed 11.5" rear end to run some 15" wheels with 6 piston calipers! I can't wait until its done!

New updates with many changes lol. Long story short after the chassis was cut up there wasn't much left and the builder talked me into going full tube chassis.

Then I matted up the motor to a 4L85E and plan on running that with a manual valve body and air shifter.

Is that front tire in the final position in that 4th pic or will it be farther forward? Looks to just be sitting in there for a general height reference?

hi really looking good. just started a similar build will be following you on this one . What was the reason for going with that transmision over the allison? or is that what the two wheel drive cam with. wish we could get two wheel dmax up here. makes a nicer platform than a 2500 hd 4x4

Lol well you better get to it James! Is Levi just building a driver or going a little farther into it? Mine started as a "driver" and we see how that's going lol.

I went with the 4L85 as I didn't want to deal with a heavy transmission and electronic everything for shifting it. It will save me a few hundred pounds in the long run and with a manual valve body I can setup my shift points where ever I choose.

Nicely done Eric!

Thank you Blake!

No idea. He wants a “street truck” and that’s what he will build but I know his “street truck” will consist of a high hp engine like his old reg cab. It won’t ever see the track but it certainly needs to stand up to competition on the street lol

i was also wondering what are you going to use for rad and air to air . i was hoping to use the doner ones but it will be very tight . Removed the fan and going to see if that will give me enough room. did your doner have tortion bars or springs? your frame is more likely not as big as a 2500 hd

I am going to an aftermarket intercooler that will be pretty big. That will go up front. The radiator will be aftermarket as well but more than likely behind the cab. If I need more room up front I will have the big clutch fan pulley threads cut off and weld the pulley to the stud that's left. In my setup that is basically an idler pulley for me as I don't have a clutch fan anymore. My donor was a 2500HD that was originally my drag truck that I converted to coilover leafs up front to get rid of the weight of the torsion bars and have a smoother ride.

The chassis shop is moving along very well with the truck I am getting ancess to get the truck back into my garage but one hang up is the truck rear end wont be finished for a while. I was told my wheels are on back order until April!

So that will have to be something that will be done after the rear wheels get to me. :(

If all goes well I should be rolling the chassis back into my garage in a month or so!
