My new plinker.

I bought me a new pistol a couple weeks ago and finally shot it today. It is a Rock Island Armory 1911A2. I would have really liked to have bought a Kimber but good god at the price tag on them. With only putting about 25 rounds through this RIA I'm in love with it. It's just a plain jane no frills 1911 that when you pull the trigger it goes bang and puts the lead where you want it.

I got it from the local gun store here that generally has a 20% markup. But my pops worked there and all the guys there know me so they always cut me a deal. I walked out the door with it for $455.

Not bad. I have been looking for a 1911 style also. I love the kimbers just not the price tag.

I bought a kimber Raptor custom shop gun...best trigger i've ever felt stock and is an amazing gun but guns are one of my biggest hobbies so I tend to spend too much $$$ on em sometimes but atleast it's something you can pass donw and will last forever...unlike a truck LOL...I'm looking for another one now to actually carry prolly a RIA or springfield

i've got one of those, just got different grips on it. i like it alot. only problem is the very sharp edges on the grip safety. i took my apart and beveled the edges on it a little and now it does not cut into the web between my trigger fringer and thumb. (actually cut me it was so sharp!!)
the only other downside is the gi sights. they are very different from modern day sights and hard to aquire a good picture until you get used to them.

My isn't very sharp but I would like some other grips for it. What grips did you put on yours?
