Just got it Saturday and thought i'd share:D

http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=106&category=Pistol

My 1st real handgun, all i've had before are .22cal guns. We've got plenty of rifles and shotguns but no bigger caliber handguns, so i picked up My brand new Taurus 24/7 PRO Stainless 40.cal S&W, with two 15rd mags, case, brush, INTERNAL lock system keys for a touch over $350 + tax! I got me a Fobus holster for it too. So far ive put 150rds through it with no problems and it shoots exellent! Nice tight grouping! Has Straight-8 sights wich are somewhat odd till i get used to them, but there for rapid target aquisition. Very light, comfortable, simple! I got it with intentions of getting a good self-defence gun, somthing to go to the range with and as a CC cause....

To protect my family, friends, home, myself.

I work in a less desireable area of town, police chase ended there the other day, what if the perp ran into our shop??? Theres always some crap going on.

Sometimes travel out of town and have found myself in unfamilure and uncomfortble areas.

Since we have CC permits, I want one while i can get one, and besides, dont want to be defenseless since who knows who else has a firearm.

With the way things are now days, who knows what could truely happen? Just dont wanna get caught with my shorts down (figureativly speaking)!

I don't even intend to carry it much at all, and prolly won't, just want to know i can if needs be. I'd love to take a tactical/defense firearms course too if theres anything around my parts:D

If anyone else has a 24/7...Chime in!

already got too run one of those. 4" barrel, loved it. $1200 is a bit steep though and at almost a buck a shot= ouch!!

i wanna try the 2.5" barrel version now minus the compensator. i'd would pay to see someone do a double tap with that (although the second round probably wont be needed :D)....

My CC is a kimber, but I quit carrying, found out if you even have a hint of alcohol on your breathe while carrying results in a ride to the hooscow, meaning you cant go out to dinner and have even one drink  if your carrying.

I carry some of the time, but I don't drink at all so it doesn't matter. I used to carry semi-auto's, I now only carry revolvers. I don't want shell cases laying around when the smoke clears, just a hint given to me by the guy who taught my CC class in Florida.

nice lookin piece there. keep it clean and you'll have good luck. imo go out and buy yourself a 9mm for taget/range shootin. ammo is a ton cheaper. i have the springfield xd 40 and love it.

You'll really get to like that gun. I've read nothing but good things and I was also impressed with the one that I handled. Taurus makes a pretty nice gun despite what a lot of people say. My .44 has been a great gun for me.

nice Piece. I love guns, I have a pretty good collection as well lol. Taurus makes a good firearm.

Just FYI for some that carry, I carry a small .45 for CCW, I have seen a crack head take away a 9mm and take down the shooter after being hit 4 times center mass, and once in neck, I'll always carry a .45 after seeing that (it was a vid not in person)....lol.

I really like it so far! I looked at the XD-40 too, also a nice gun! If it were in my budget i prolly would have gotten a Smith & Wesson M&P chambered for 45.cal but there around $650 so... I found after the fact that there is a 45.cal 24/7 but none were at the show. I really wanted a 45.cal for the extra power/shock but the 40 will do for now! I'll prolly go get me a 1911 in 45.cal sooner or later! Somthin i can have fun with and modify, like a compitition gun. I was told, and belive that 40. and above is best for self-defence for the shock effect, smaller calibers might not be enough to stop a 300 pound drug-ed up felon and that a real possiblity now days. I have a mag loaded up with Hornady TAP 180gr HP's kept close to the gun. Hopefully I NEVER have to use those and prolly won't but better to be safe than sorry, right? I would really like to have a H&K USP <----- Thats one hell of a pistol!

I have a springfield V10 that is always in the truck. I also have a Ruger SP101 that I put .38s in because I dont want to hit something and have it keep going. Let us know how you like that thing Mouse. I used to have glocks but after you shoot 1911s you wont have them for much longer. XDs kick glocks ass in my opinion too.

Well had a few spare minutes this evenin, so i put 50 more rounds through it:D So far....I love it! Very pleased, not a single problem, and very tight grouping providing my aim is on:rofl: Still gettin used to the sights (Hienie straight-8's), as there intended for, nice fast target aquistion! Dunno if it still is the record holder or not but when it was introduced, the 24/7 became the fastest "stock production" pistol made! Reknown for it's speed and i can vouch for that! In rapid succsession, i cut out the bulleye of a target sheet with 5 rounds  If any of you are intrested in one...Nothin but praise from me about it! Go find one and pick it up...the feel and balence sold me, i was out for a Smith & Wesson Sigma or the XD till i picked this one up and held it.
Feel free to ask Q's :D

Here's mine. Kimber Pro Carry II .45. Couldn't decide between the .40 and .45, so I used turbo logic: Go big or go home. BTW, this thing is sweet.

I think guns are like buying tennis shoes, you pick the one that fits you....If you shoot it and you like it, stick with it. If you put 500 rds through it and no misfires/stove pipes/ mag ejects for unkn reason, stick with it.... Confidence in the gun will give you confidence in using it when necessary. I dont look at the name, I monkey fist'em, shoot the hell out of'em, and then decide if thats what I want. I personally have Glocks, but I dont tell peeps to go gab them, I just tell'em to try'em out and c what you like best. Now if a name give you confidence, then maybe that is all you need to shoot well, dunno, it is an excellant tool to see how people will shoot one gun better than another and vis versa....
