Well after I had to put my blue heeler to sleep back in January we finally decided we would get another dog and I thought I'd introduce him to everyone.:)

I had no say on the name but was told his name is now "Diesel"
His mother was hit by a car so we will be bottle feeding him for just a little longer before he's on solid food but he's pretty healthy other than that.:)

Blue healer/ Australian Shepard mix.

Better get you to spell that right Kev. HEELER. We have a saying here faithful as an old blue (heeler) and thats just what they are, anything with a bit of blue in them are as faithful as you will ever get. Some remarkable stories about their loyalty out here. And everywhere you go that dog will be hanging at your heels all the time.

Ok you caught me. I fixed it.;) I hope he's as good as Jake was, that was the best part, he did exactly what you told him whether he liked it or not.(and you could tell pretty easy.:D) I sure miss him.:( But now I get to start all over again. And watching him grow and training him was half the fun.:)

Just ahve to resort to calling him "D" for short when you need to work him. ;)

Good lookin pup. About how big do blue heelers get? We've thought about another dog but our dog stays inside as would the next and we don't want a giant. :D 40-45 is about as big as we'd want.

No problem having one of them in your house Mitch. They wont get up to much more than that. And they are a really clean dog. Look after themselves well. Not like my mine, hes around 200+ (lbs) but he doesnt live inside although we walk him through the house regularly just for security reasons

Jake was 9 years old and when we had him at the vet they weighed him at 46 lbs. that's about as big as they get. We had started letting him stay inside most of the time when it was cold just because he was getting real slow and had bad arthritis and had trouble getting around. He never got into anything or made a mess. When he wanted outside he would just walk up in front of you and make sure he blocked whatever you were doing until you let him out and when he wanted back in he'd go to the nearest window to you and just stare at you. Eventually you get tired of being stared at and let him in.:D

Here is a picture of mom. She is about average size for a heeler mix.
