My machinist keyed the crank, with 1 long key

Well i just got back from the machine shop, and my guy keyed the crank with one long key instead of 3 smaller ones. will this be a problem i should worry about?

It will be fine. I did the one in my 02 that way. I just did another with 3 keys. Both ways are far better than the pins.

Is the top of the key level the whole way or does it step down at the end where the balancer goes on?

its a little stepped down. we will see if i can get the balancer on

I bet it's ok. Mine doesn't drop down much where it goes from the reluctor wheel to the balancer.
