My lab Downtown "Ripley" Brown. Just turned 7 months and some of his first field work.

Suprised me he's already presenting the retrieves and not shaking the water off until after he's presented and is told to.

Good Boy! :happy2: :happy2:

Thats awesome! I'll have to show my brother who has a 6mo old yellow lab, he mentioned about training his dog for trials.

I had a black lab (rip Hunter:() that was a great pheasant dog, no training either, just hunted off instinct. He even circled around a missed bird and flew it back past us so we could get it. Now, I have a Beagle that likes to run rabbits.

Thanks. I'm not really into having a dog for trials as I have other things to do during the summer like race trucks and ride quads. But I'm giving my pup a go at a pro trainer (where he was born) to see if the mechanical handling aspects of trials-type training along with basic normal obedience will make for, or enhance a good field dog.

I'm sure he'll hunt birds and bring dead ones back to me from what I've seen. Just trying to give him a good base of skills to make him really good in the details of hunting.

We'll see!
