This was a couple weeks ago. I am the last truck in the video. I didn't realize I didn't have it matted until about 200'. If you listen, you can hear my RPMs go up when I did mat it. :( Then about 30ft later I let up for no apparant reason. Well, in the truck it felt like all hell was breaking loose (track jerked me to the right and then when the sled hit the spot and got jerked right, I thought something bad was happening so I let up). You can see my weights slam the ground and fling dirt. (I have got to fab a new rack thats higher. Its only about 6" off the ground  ) Obviously, that was a bad rookie mistake. As you can see, the run was going great.

There were 17 or 18 trucks. It was pretty much Run What Ya Brung cause they added the class for us due to a rain-out at another location. I finished at 235.xx most were in the mid-240 range. The second truck took second and third (he got away with registering the same truck under two names. :D ) and is the one I mentioned has been tearing it up around here in his McRat-tuned LBZ. He went high 250s and low 260s. Ryan never "hooked up" good but went the furthest in the high 260s or 270s. I think I would have finished like the others in the mid 240s if I hadn't of let up.

My setup... ~900lbs on the front. T-bars lowered all the way. Blocks in the rear with 1" travel. 40lbs in front tires and 50-52 in the rears - 285/65/18 BFG AT KO with about 3/16" tread remaining. I was right at 8000 lbs. DPV6 tune. T/H. 3rd gear, 4Lo.

Might try to do a little better tomorrow night.

Congrats!

Kat did the same thing her first pull. She lifted during the pull because she felt the wheelspin. This is what you do when drag racing, but not sled pulling.

She redeemed herself on her second pull, and put real estate on ALL the LB7's and Dodges with Blue. She came in second to a heavily mod'd Ford dually (Brian Bunting).

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.........Smokeshow..you should be proud. Your truck look's great and made a great pull. Thank's for the vid. I have done some trial and error work during pull's. It's either really good or really bad. It only take's a little more hp sometimes to pull 4th. When it come together and you have the wheel speed it makes you say, take that you GOATs......

I run 20 in the front also. Haven't spun one on the rim yet. Running low pressure in the front will change your hitch height slightly (lower) during the pull. Who really knows what the trade off is? I only know that my truck likes flat tires on the front when pulling. I like the rear tires to squat some but not enough to give up height on the chain. More than one way to do it. That's just my opin.

Not bad Mitch!

That lawn dart looked a little rough!

All in all a great first hook. Any hook you can drive a way from is a good one by the way.:)

We run 25 - 50 fr/rr and it seems to get good traction.

I think the reason is that when fully underway, it provides equal footprint on each tire. Or the rear has twice the weight going on it as the front.

Thanks for the props guys. I'll try to remember to try some different air pressures next time, especially with my narrower (compared to most pullers anyways) tires.
