I figured I would give a quick update on my new setup for this year. I am running the Danville 4094 stg2r with a race cover S482FMW as my twin setup. I have dual pumps and what I would guess to be about 100% over DDP's. All supporting mods with built motor.

First of all, tuning is everything with this turbo. Don't think you will be able to take some tune for any other VVT and make it work. You will need to start off of Mark's base tune.

My truck run's on 33's with 3.42 gears so my cruising rpm is always very low. At 65mph in 5th gear I am at 1700-1750rpm. I can let rpm go down to 1550, roll into the throttle and easily build boost and accelerate. I do get a little bit of smoke, but does not come close to "blacking out" the highway. By 1850 rpm, this thing lights like no other. I can go from 8psi to 50 psi in the blink of an eye. Okay, maybe a slow blink. I kid not. this thing spools instantly above 1850rpm.

My truck has never been this drivable. It is flat out awesome.

Now lets talk turbo brake. My first experience with the turbo brake was nothing short of crapping my pants and wondering what was wrong with my truck. I was cruising down the highway and made a little 4th gear pull up to 80mph. Rpm's around 2900. I let off the throttle and truck starts to slow down. Then, hello turbo brake. I damn near kissed the steering wheel. I thought something had seized. I look at my gauges, and drive pressure is at 80psi with no throttle input. After a fresh pair of "angel chaps";), I have pulled all of the turbo braking out of my race tunes, and will use very judiciously on my tow tunes.

If you want a single charger or an awesome high pressure charger for a twin setup that will tow and give you awesome top end, this is the charger.

I will have some HP/TRQ numbers this weekend.

I had the Danville 3794stg2 with the S482 last year. Not night and day for spool up, but definitely better. The turbo brake absolutely night and day difference. I am running the 72mm version right now and Mark says it responds slower than the 68mm, But I don't see how.

If this is the setup he dynoed a week ago, I can say he did a stout 874hp.

Only reason I remember is because I did 875hp :D

I'm sure with some tuning adjustments, this turbo setup will support a good bit more.

Have been playing with the setup a bit. Current best on the dyno is 1011hp. With some gate and vane tuning I think it has 1100-1150 in it without changing fueling to much. Base tune currently puts down 800hp and is stupid to try and drive on the street.

I need Rob to build me some smaller tunes for a calmer street experience. :roflmao:

Can you get some videos of your trick Verlon? Or Harbin? Inside with the boost gauge?

Mike has me thinking about then Vvt/ twins again.

How hard are you fueling it before you need to gate around the HP turbo? What kind of drive pressure difference with the gate?

At the moment, the 1000hp tune is 2600us. On the dyno boost and drive is 1.7-1. On the street boost and drive is 1.4-1. I haven't played with the gate to much yet. With the gate opening all the way on a 800hp tune, I had 44lbs overall with 35 of that from the big charger. With the gate shut on the same tune I get 50lbs overall with 20 from the big charger. This is on the dyno. Drive with gate open is 60ish, gate closed is 90.

I am trying to get my isspro logging to work for me. Those numbers are max values only and I know they fluctuate quite a bit on the passes. I will be picking Pliska's brain at woodburn in a few weeks.

I will be trying to find the sweet spot of gate open some with vanes closed more to keep the little guy running hard. That takes lots of dyno time which I have to make time for.

I think I will be going to a 94mm at the end of the year, so I'm not sure how much I will mess with this setup. My base tune is set right on for the 11.90 class which how I pay for upgrades.:D

Cake and eat it to.... I will get there!

I don't have a lot of tricks I can send you video of... :D

Go to vsouthdmax channel on youtube. I have 4 videos of some 1/8 mile passes I did earlier this year. They were done on a 750hp tune. 55lbs of boost. no video of boost gauge though.

On 11.90 tune, I see between 1600-1700 depending on track location and air that day. That is on a 750-800hp tune.
