So my brothersw rzr decided to puke all its oil out in the dunes about a month ago and we couldnt find/see where it blew it out. no visable cracks in the head or cylinder. So we pulled the motor out (not a fun process in these) and tore it down. Head looks great but i cant see if/where it went through the headgasket.
Pulled the cylinder off the pistons and heres what i found.
To give a bit of back history, we tore the motor down almost a year ago to put rzr s cam and pistons in it. has about 30 hours on it since. all we can figure is it got too much detonation from bad gas or something though im not 100% sure on the tuning S&S did on the ECM. May have to throw a A/F gauge in after we get it back together. rings were all gapped properly and everything was to polaris spec. We got lucky though that the peices stayed in the piston and didnt touch the cylinder walls, hell the cylinders still have all the hone marks!
