My Answer to High Gas Prices

Donna let me go shopping yesterday and I picked this up:

It has custom pinstriping. The dealer calls this one of their "spider bikes" as only a few get this treatment:

It is a 1100cc Honda Shadow Sabre. It should get close to 50 mpg, so it will be my new ride to work. It rides real well and sounds good (not too loud). Dealer will install a windscreen and seat back when the parts come in. Picked it up with only 2 miles on the ODO (has around 18 now) and i can't wait to drive it to work tomorrow

There are places I wouldn't want to ride it around here either, but my route to work is OK. We have relatives that live in Simi Valley and he rides his crotch rocket to work every day. He talks about he loves to "split the lane". He also corners very aggressively; he's been watching to motoraces too much I think. I think he is nuts....

My last street bike was a GSX1100. It got 30mpg. Not worth it IMO, but the twins and singles get much better mileage. My old Harley got 45mpg.

i have a 2001 kawasaki zr7s (air cooled 750 4 cyl). a little over 50mpg! definitely a nice looking bike you got there!

Definitely the way to go.

We just did an 800 mile trip on less then $50 in gas. Right around 50 mpg.

my dad gets 45ish mpg on is 1989 Kaw ZX10 going around 90 mph (slower gets worse mpg)
