some funny videos of whats been my daily driver for the past 2 months.

I built it all myself, its pretty funny. Wherever I go, class, parties, whatever I just say "im the one with the big beetle" and everyone knows me.

Its definitely one of a kind, I dont think there are any else like it. Ive seen some hacked versions that still had the engine in the front, but IMHO this looks just about as factory/seamless as possible, and still has the engine where hitler wanted it to be. :D

the 4Runner in the second video is also fun offroad, its one of my good frineds, lifted with 33" Goodyear MTR's, ARB airlocker, and is supercharged.

thats how I was able to keep it rear-engined. Both axles have offset housings, and the xfer case has both outputs offset to one side. It used to be all passenger drop in the jeep, but when I flipped the whole drivetrain around, and axles upside down (so I wouldnt have 3 speeds in reverse), its now all drivers drop.

chevy 4.3 TBI, custom bumpers/motor mounts/trans crossmember/frame sections, home made spring packs, power steering (not 100% necessary because the only weight up front is the battery, gas tank, and brake booster), hydroboost brakes with discs up front (it doesnt even weigh 3000lbs, so with hydroboost off a 1 ton chevy, it literally stops on a dime. ), BW1339 xfer case, Turbo 400 tranny.

steering column is from a 1-ton chevy with column shift for the tranny. It has a rollcage with harnesses and some comfy rice-ish racing sport seats.

the radiator is mounted way in the back and has a ford Taurus fan for cooling. Its the most unpredictable vehicle I have ever driven in the snow because the wheelbase is so short, and the stupid steering ratio is like 5 (!) turns lock to lock. I dont know why the ratio is so high; its a power steering box so its not like it needs it. I really need to put a small steering wheel on it so I have some chance of being able to correct if I start sliding. Right now it has the big 1 ton chevy steering wheel, so turning lock-to-lock has your hands flying all around. Its also welded in the rear and the wheel cut isnt that sharp, so the turning radius is surprisingly poor. :(

All of the parts are junkyard, or given to me by friends, so I dont really have much in it, just my time.
