I finally pulled the trigger and got my MPI Twins, I just havn't had time to install yet. Will the Twins quiet the exhaust enough that I won't need the muffler? I don't want it any louder than it is now with the muffler on with my 4" MBRP.
I'm with you Steve (I think anyway lol). I'll try it both ways and see what I like. I will leave the muffler on at first when I install the trips...keep the cops away but suprise folks when I hit it! Not to mention I spend a lot of miles per day in the truck and on the phone or speaking with people who are with me. I may be getting old, but it would be nice to be able to hear them better!
I had my exhaust coming out in front of the rear tire and no muffler and it was really quiet compared to without the twins. I think with a muffler it is too quiet.
Still makes enough racket at 3500 rpm + with strait pipes. Lites still come on at neighbors at 4:00 am if it's warmed up and you shift in M for the rpms. Turbos sound nicer too in early morning. Roosters get woke up when you hit it at this time seems like.
5" straight pipe, and the only thing I can hear is the Raptor 150 and the turbo whistle. "Twins the most expensive muffler you will ever buy", as my buddies and I say. lol
i enjoy my muffler with the twins but i also got my exhaust dumping right behind the cab so resinating was an issue before the twins. if i ran the exhaust all the way out the back id pull the muffler out. Having a quiet fast truck is nice though
