LB7: Motor Build

About to start this build, still collecting parts going to be ordering rods/bearings/gaskets etc in the next couple weeks!

So far block has be fluxed/checked Pistons delipped and .010 knocked off the top.

Just got my SoCal stage 2 heads, 100over injectors, merchant pushrods, billet hold downs, main studs

Need to order Carrillos, ati damper, gaskets, headstuds etc

Fuel for the 100 overs is going to be twin lb7 pumps with lbz regs.

Air wise I'm running a cast s472 .90/83, if it's hot, it's just a excuse to go to twins

Once I have everything rotating assembly will be sent for balancing and block for a lign hone!
Not sure how much this set up will make but I'm shooting for 800!

Go 87 turbine. The 83 will support 800 but that's about it.

Might look into doing a AF cam, welded water pump, new oil pump and cooler. As Brian said. Do the 87 asap. A 83 should never be used on a Duramax

Was debating a AF cam, that will be later on down the line for now, water pump is welded and will be running a external oil cooler and a meling pump. I have no complaints with the 83 even on stock fuel right now.....but like I said, its on the list for sure!

Who built your trans and who's doing the work on the engine?

Brian at BCO built mine, hes been really good to me. And I am doing the work on the motor but the machine work I am still un-sure of as of now. Theres a good shop down in the meaford area I will likely be using

Made some progress in between school and work these last couple weeks, shes now a full long block, bottom end all buttoned up, made all my keys, oil pump/pickup on. Heads are installed and sticks are in! Waiting on covers from powder coating and need to paint the block still!
