So went to start my truck Sunday, turned the key and nothing. No lights on the dash, no radio, no start. Cycled the key a few times, still nothing. Went inside, came back out turned the key and it fired right up. Went where I needed to go and came back, no issues. Haven't driven it since. Went to start it this morning and it cranked slow at first, shut the key off, turned it on, then nothing again. Cycled the key a few times and could get the lights on the dash to flicker, but wouldn't stay on or start. Battery issue or is my ignition switch bad? Any way to check the switch? Where can I get a new one fairly inexpensively?

Got home tonight and tried to start it, same issues. Tried to jump it off my work truck and nothing. Checked voltage on each battery with a meter, 1 at 13.57, other at 11.98. Disconnected batteries and hooked back up minus lift pump ground on the one battery. Now if I touch that lift pump ground to the battery it runs, no key. I'm beyond confused now. Does anyone have a diagram for the key switch wiring?

I would take the batteries in and have them tested, mine was doing some strange things when the batteries went south, voltage checked ok but everything else was no good

It has had no issues prior to this, and no signs that the switch would be going bad. I'll pull the batteries and head back to AutoZone with them. They're less than a year old

If I turn the key to accessory (1 click) my gauges light up, that's it. And sometimes my dome light comes on with the door open, but sometimes it doesn't.

honestly you would be surprised what weird ass things batteries do on these trucks, im not guessing or assuming anything. these trucks are known for doing weird things with bad batteries.
get them tested and then go from there, ive been down this road before on trade-ins at work it bit me in the ass the first two times.

Ok, so more strange twists. Left the ground on my lift pump unplugged all night. Went out this morning and the key worked, truck cranked, but slowly. Then I clamped the lift pump ground to the negative terminal and tried to start the truck. It started right up. Maybe a potential issue with my lift pump?
