hey, just goofing off in my trans tune and started to wonder about this... i assume it means that below x rpm (2800 in my case) the main pressure will be reduced..

would i get some firmer shifts or benefit at all if i lowered that min number down to say 2400 or so? dont wanna do any damage or play with anything before i fully understand what it does

The mod main solenoid ( G solenoid ) activates at 7% throttle. If throttle angle is below 7% it activates and drops psi about 150 psi and raises it back to normal above 8% throttle angle. This is done to keep the pump from working so hard when it does not need to. ( idle ) Don't think there is anything you can do with EFI to change it as TCM is looking for it.

sorry mike but im just a little confused and trying to figure this out..

so basically no matter what you change this table to after 7% throttle you're at full pressure? and this table only means that the idle release bit wont take effect below x rpm to hold the pressure up for things like engine braking?

well im just trying to learn...in efilive it says it can be active at x rpm levels so im trying to figure out what it effects as just a few hours ago i had no idea:eek:

since efi says it can operate at numerous rpm i can only assume thats its a function of throttle and not rpm (not to say you're wrong or anything just trying to figure it out) and im assuming the reason why (according to efilive) that it holds main pressure above 2800 is it keep the pressure strong for engine braking..
