Towing can be done with the K version. It takes a few rpm to get the load moving, but is doable. I had close to 30k miles on mine towing 8-11k.
It is not a towing converter, but it will work.
The G converter is a tight converter and stall would probably be around 1800/1900. It is not for big singles or high altitudes.
The K is around 2500/2800 stall. It's an amazing converter considering how it couples so hard after launch.
Verlon has had a lot of experience with racing the K and towing with it. Dustin has had a lot of experience racing the K also. There are only 5 out there right now but there will be a lot more pretty soon.
i got a question, what do you consider high altitude? anything above sea level? :joker: im at around 3-4k feet
and from what ive read the K converter would be great for twin/triple setup much more over a single? as you stated.
Dustin, is that with your new twin setup on the white truck or is that not finished yet?
What is the price on the K. Looking to upgrade my converter with the engine build this winter
The K converter is awesome for spooling at the line. I didn't realize how easy it was until I ended up with a much tighter converter due to my own desire for perfection. It can't be beat for a drag racing converter.
I put 200 passes on mine all at 850hp plus in a 7800lbs truck. It does what mike says it do.
The K runs 1495.00 with core exchange.
Mike,
If I wanted a K, how long does it take to get one and could I get it at a stall around 2300 instead of 2600?
Thanks
David
Verlon,
What stall did you get since you got a tighter converter?
Verlon had Goerend modify a K and didn't like it for his purpose so I had another K sent to him.
