I went to prime my system to FINALLY start the truck today and I cant get it to prime with a drill??? isn't this how they are supposed to be primed? I currently have a stock tank in because my first fuel cell was mis-shipped. I have a 1/2" line from the sump to a donaldson water separator/filter setup and then it continues to the MITUSA. all pushloc fittings. I put my thumb over the fuel filter head to verify suction and I was not getting any. there are no leaks in the hose or fittings. I opened the pump and it seems fine. i tighten the back cover until the shaft starts to show resistance.

any ideas?

yep, and i tried it the other way too just to make sure i wasn't crazy. did you use the big (4") pulley at the driven pulley or did you use the small one (1" approx)?

well, I asked because the pump i bought used came with 3 pulleys, the drive pulley, the large pulley, and another small pulley (which i assumed was for dual cp3 applications for higher flow)

Tim, I never got a call yesterday.....try pressurizing your fuel tank with shop air to push the fuel to it.

I have an electric lift pump on a switch with a check valve-by pass set up to prime my system, works every time. When I change the filters, I don't even pre fill them just flip the switch and crack the bleeder screw.

Looks like I will have to install an electric lift pump too, I tried to fire it up yesterday and the Mitusa isnt pulling anything while cranking. you can hear it gurgling like it wants too. but it's just not enough RPM i guess.

go to advance and put a "mr. gasket green" pump on there. They cost 40 bucks and that should work. Green pump is for diesel

try filling the lines with fuel by sticking the back end in a bucket of fuel and siphon it to the front. Have someone stick a finger one the end in the bucket then hook everything up and try it out;)

I was saying for a temp solution just to get it fired....once you get everything running and primed I figured you could pull her off. 1/8" wouldn't be a restriction would it?? ;)

I got some old Kennedy pumps from Ben to wire up for now. If it ends up being the issue ill buy the black laing from tony and keep it on a momentary switch. I have a feeling its the cp3 though.
