Missing the last digit in my vin

Hey guys, sorry for what is probably a really silly question, but I'm totally lost on the efi live stuff.

I got my new tunes for my Autocal from my tuner but noticed that the last digit of my VIN is missing when you look at the screen under "quickstart" in scan and tune. I assume that this will cause me problems.....am I correct? Thanks for any help and sorry for the newb question.

It won't cause any problems as far as driving it.

Really?! So you are saying that it will flash fine and the truck will run with no problems because the tune is missing the last digit in the VIN? That would be awesome if I'm reading you right!

Well, now it tries to flash the ecm but keeps stopping with $0283 error. Any ideas?

Try pulling fuses. I have to pull Radio, Info, and ABS fuse for mine to flash. It's an LLY though.

Thanks, yeah I tried pulling the fuses I used to pull for my PPE tuner but had the same result. I'm back to work today so I'll have to wait till Thursday to play with it some more. Was told to check the fuse for cig lighter too. I always assumed if the Autocal powered up by the obd2 port that the fuse was ok but maybe not??

If the autocal is powering on then the fuse isn't your issue.

Check efi lives website to make sure you have the latest updates for the autocal

do bad you are not closer...

man it almost sounds like a firmware issue the missing vin won't do anything efi live uses other serial #'s on the ecm for vin licensing and checking. did you check and update your software and firmware and boot block i would do that first the tune was probably written on a different software level and efi live just put out a bunch of new updates to bad its a 12hr drive north or i would use my v2 to load it for you but i had / have a lot of issues flashing lb7's and lly's thats why i bench flash them now if its an autocal issue send me your ecm and i'll load it for you if you want i found to many things do not play happy on the can bus line like after market stereo interfaces even trailer brake controllers on star yada yada yada call me maybe i can help Dan

I'm just waiting to hear back from the tuner as now there may be a chance that they will unlock it from their V2 for me. Either way, I'll give you a shout tomorrow night bud!
