This was also my first dyno, as I was at the same event with Tyler and Jeff (wikdlmm). We had a blast and and I was pleased with how the truck dynoed. My max ended up being 467hp and 1189tq. The hp number was lower than I expected, but hey that is usually how it goes. I guess it is time to find another dyno and do some real time tuning.

I was more impressed with a buddy's truck. He had an injector issue, lb7 who woulda guessed, that started the morning of the event. He ended up dynoing right at 434hp and 850tq despite the foot high flame coming from the stack.

Haha yeah we've got some pics just waiting to get them emailed to me.

On the tuning side, I've got a buddy that is self taught. He bought EFI from McRat and my tune started out as one that Pat built. Or that is what he said.

But just thinkin, I have heard that tires other than a street or all terrain ie: mud tires have an effect on your hp numbers. I was running some Cooper Discovers STTs. Another duramax that was supposed to make some serious numbers was running the same tire and his numbers were way off. Feel free to correct me as I am here to learn.

I am going to talk to JT (my tuning buddy) to see if I can get a second opinion on my tune. And maybe hit a diffrent dyno.

No matter what I'm thrilled at what it put down.

I don't know if we will be able to make it out to Ennis or not. I've got to save like mad to pay my income taxes.

As far as the numbers being wierd I don't know what to say. I've got the dyno graph if no one believes me.

434/850 = .511 sounds pretty normal
460/890 = .517 sounds pretty normal
467/1189 = .393 sounds more like a Cummins

Most 450+hp Duramax's I've seen or put on the dyno put out torque up to double the horsepower - 1189 is way over double 467. I'm not saying or even trying to imply that maxaholic is lying about his numbers - I'm saying the dyno isn't showing what his truck really has for hp. I was just pointing out that the ratio seemed wierd as a possible reason hp was lower than expected. It could have been that it wasn't ran out far enough to get to the peak hp (doubtful), could be a tuning issue in the top end, could be rail pressure, turbo might not have spooled to near what it sees on the street. With that much torque a Dmax typically puts out higher hp #'s.
