What dies it mean tho? I need a new oil cooler? I'm asking bc my brother an I just bought a truck with this prob..
It means that the oil cooler has started to leak internally. When the oil gets in the coolant its not that big of deal. It can be cleaned and flushed out. When the coolant mixes with the oil it makes a disaster. The oil and coolant will foam in the motor and most of the time will wipe out bearings and clog all the coolant passages causing never ending overheating issues.
If the oil has foamed up most likely you will have to pull the motor. The last one I did the motor was trashed.
Then I would try to flush it. Try pressurizing the coolant system with the glowplugs removed and see if it leaks down overnight and has coolant coming out of the glowplug holes.
