Help: Middle of Hydroboost install - is this bad?

Pulled my hydroboost tonight with plans to install the new one before a trip on Saturday. Old unit came out easily enough, but when I pull the new unit out of the box I noticed the canister looking piece is sitting cockeyed in the booster. Is this ok? This is a brand new GM unit. That canister is straight/square on my original. See pic below.

Problem, or can I continue this project?

Thats an accumulator. damn i would be a little leary of putting that on that way.

I would take it back that just screams trouble to me.

The accumulator is bent over part is nfg. don't waste the time installing it.
Plus they may try to say you broke it if its dirty installed etc.

Man I was afraid that was the answer. Look like I'm going to have to reinstall the old one. Have to have the truck Saturday.

They can't get me another one until Saturday afternoon. We need to roll out of here at 6 Saturday morning. Looks like I'll just have to re-install the old one tomorrow.

See if you can get one elsewhere and make them refund $ plus labor. it's time us Mechanics stop absorbing someone elses f@$& up!

MAke them sell it to you for cost. how much was it? I got the last one i did for 420$ from the local dealer. and that was a little over cost.

I actually bought it from Amazon - $289.75. I tried to give my local dealer the business, but they wouldn't come off their $671 retail. I like to support local businesses, but am not in a financial position to throw away $400 on the same part.

I put a Napa one on my truck a year ago and havent had any problems. I think it was around $280.

Sounds about right for a Napa reman if I remember correctly. I wanted to stick with new AC Delco, and Napa and other parts stores could not get me one of them.
