Has anyone here use a Melling brand oil pump for the dmax? i am wondering how it compares to the factory one and if they are any good (oil psi wise). The stock one that came with my motor has some scuffing on the inside and am leery about reusing it. Thanks in advance

Didnt even know Melling came out with one for us. Interesting info.

Trent and Eric both told me that if there is any scuffing inside the pump...not a good idea to reuse it.

Vasile that's the pump we had trouble with in that lb7 we built. It's cast iron holds real high oil pressure and spun the gear on the shaft. Sent it back bought a new lbz one and had the shaft keyed to be safe. I can get oem oil pump at a good price.

Here are some pics of that Mellings pump truck had to be hauled from WV to Md on a rollback. And we had to pull the motor and we had to check all the bearing and we sent the junk ass pump back to mellings and I went to Gm and got a new LBZ pump. truck did not even make it 1,200 miles with the mellings it has over 60k on it now.
