the knock off flo pro sure does fit better too.....seriously

I agree. Thicker pipe that's not dinged up to shit, better clamps that don't rust, hangers that are welded to the pipe and better prices. That mbrp guy is full of chit. My stainless mbrp tip is starting to rust. There tips are made in China. Least Flo pro is a canadian product.

My MBRP muffler was much better than the Banks I have on now which was welded up about 3 times now.
As it is their policy to provide a receipt as proof of purchase, why not just go to where you bought it and get another one? Or contact another dealer and explain the situation. They may just hook you up with one. Never hurts to ask.

We had to do this back when we were desert racing. OMF had a contingency prize of 200 bucks for the winner of the Avi 150 we raced. We won the race and they would not give us the cash as we had no proof of where we bought the wheels. Well, the shop i worked at all summer to build our desert car is where we bought them as part of deal with some other parts but they were not put on the receipt. We had them dummy up another receipt to show we got the wheels from the shop and we finally got our money. boy that was fun

To play Devil's advocate here for a minute:

What would stop me from saying I'm you, take competition results and a photo of your truck and submit it to MBRP for contingency money? If a guy finds out Joe Schmoe runs brand X equipment and does not bother to seek contingency money for that product, what stops him from pretending to be Joe and collecting the money?

Anyone can take a picture of a vehicle and installed equipment (tons of pictures all over the net), it becomes much harder to forge a receipt (not impossible, but not as easy). I think it's manufacturer's way to keep from paying out money they shouldn't and therefor keep product costs down.

You know you're you, and you know you bought those items (or at least run them), but some guy in an office has no proof of it (and with photoshop as good as it is today, anything is possible in a picture).

I know you wouldn't fraudulently claim something, but MANY people would (and do), so companies have to protect themselves....

If they have a policy, and you didn't follow it, then say the company "sucks" and they are "cheating" because YOU didn't follow the rules, that is a little messed up (in all actuality you are trying to cheat by getting around the rules). In order to win races/pulls/etc. you have to comply by the rules (weight, safety, etc) in order to collect points/prize money/trophies, I see this as no different.

As with some pulling organization, some do very minimal teching and people get away with stuff, then they go to an organization that actually techs, then they get pissed off because they can't pull. It's not the tech's or organization's fault, yet they get called all sorts of names....

It looks as if this is the same way. Some companies don't "tech" your credentials as stringently to collect contigency money, others do.....but don't hate them though.

Would it be nice if they just said, OK here's your money....Yes, but you can't get upset with them if you don't follow their policy and they refuse.

That's BS. Knock off all the other crap, contingency money is because somebody wants their part seen on a winning vehicle, pure and simple. This piece is on there and it was seen. It's a stack fer chrissake, with a big MBRP on it, out there for everyone to see and you can't miss it. Weaseling out because someone doesn't have a receipt from 2yrs ago is a pretty chicken way of weaseling out.

Not related to contingency but my 5" MBRP fits like $hit. Noe of the hangers actually hang the exhaust. They are all bent of pulled in a direction but none actually hold the pipes up. As far as the tail pipe it exited at a wierd downward slope and was really low. Had to get a new hanger to get it aimed in the right direction.

Their products are garbage so why would you assume their business practices would be any different. I have given away both the exhaust systems I purchased from them bc of major rust issues...

It's not about whether I think MBRP has a good product (I run their cool duals and fitment leaves something to be desired....see picture):

or that I agree with their contingency money policy (I could care either way), but they have a policy in place and the original poster doesn't want to follow it (he plainly admits to it), then publicly bashes them when they won't pay (because they won't pay).

Be upset that their policy is more stringent than others, write them and lobby for them to change their policy (even see if others in the sport will back you), but don't refuse to follow their policy and then bash them when they refuse to buckle. And it shouldn't matter if it is $5 or $500, it's principle. If 2,000 people across the US fraudulently grab $5 each, it's $10,000 out of their pocket. I know the original poster isn't being fraudulent (he is the actual guy with the part on his truck and ran said vehicle in the competitions stated), but some keyboard monkey/bean counter (or even the CEO) at MBRP doesn't know that.

A little extreme example, but it's like bitching to the cop who's writing you a ticket for speeding (when you were going 65MPH in a school zone). Yes he could opt to not ticket you or just issue a verbal warning, but don't get pissed if he writes you a ticket and then come on the forums calling him a pig, jerk, a-hole, etc.
