Lookin for a 4" down pipe back exhaust system for an '06 LBZ. It seems like i can get a stainless Magnaflow system for about the same price as an aluminized MBRP system. Is Magnaflow diesel exhaust any good and what kind of sound do they have compared to the MBRP system?

I had a 5" MBRP on my ccsb, it sounded great and was pretty cheap. I would buy from them again. Hard to imagine an SS 4" being same as an aluminized one. Weird.

I have never had a problem with either of these brands. I use to install up to 10 Magnaflow kits a week and they always went together perfectly. Now I use MBRP on everyones trucks. The kits are cheap and install fairly easy.

Your good to go either way. But I would go with a stainless Magnaflow if you can get it for around $350. Both kits sound better without the muffler and a 3" downpipe.

Both are great, I wouldn't hesitate going with a Magnaflow. I run one on my truck and have had great luck.

I noticed that the Magnaflow is a two piece tailpipe vs. the one piece in the MBRP kit i was looking at. Is it really a bad thing or is it just a little harder to get things lined up right?

I have the 5" magnaflow on mine. Love the sound. My pipe has cracked next to the back hanger. I like the two piece tail pipe because you can take it off if you want it to dump behind the axle.:2cents:

That is where mine cracked as well, also has a crack in the center section where the spring hanger welds on. Not enough support from the hanger where they weld it to the pipe. I extended the hanger around to the bottom of my pipe to give some extra support.

The roads are quite a bit rougher than the lower 48. Probably explains mine cracking out.

The MBRP is a little louder imop.
