Just installed a new MBRP downpipe on my 04. Took 2 hours longer than it should have. I did the install of a 4inch exhaust also. Anyone who is planning on putting on a new downpipe, my advice is to follow the directions exactly. PB blast the heck out of those bolts and make sure you have some breaker bars that wont actually break. The removal of the transmission dipstick is essential and at the end of it all I had to cut the pipe in half just to get it out. Putting the new one in took less than 30 minutes so this whole job is mostly removal. I hope anyone else that does this has an easier time than me.

What helped me on my LLY was removing the heat shield on the down pipe and turbo. Also removing the inner fender well. Once that is done just massaging it out and get rid of it.

I think it just varies truck to truck. Honestly the hardest part is reaching it, luckily I have a ranch hand. Which is an AMAZING step anytime I have something to work on in the engine compartment. I had all of my bolts out in 3 minutes with a ratchet strap and some pb!
