I've got a 5" Exhaust on my LML, and it has a pretty good drone to it when pulling an incline. Anyone have any recommendations for a resonator or different muffler to quite it down some?

A down pipe should help with the drone. Mbrp sells an ultra quiet muffler that's above their normal mufflers.

The resonator is best thing to fix it.. I think a 5" just has more of a drone, I personally don't have a resonator but I do have a muffler and a bigger down pipe and mine is still loud..

My brother has 4" and his was definitely quieter then mine and then he put in a Banks muffler behind his mbrp and it's really quiet now, so that'd be an option also, to just add another muffler..

Look into Donalson or Nelson mufflers. My LML is aftermarket downpipe then 4" Flo Pro delete pipes with a Nelson 42" straight through muffler and it sounds stock. I like the stealthily concept so I left the stock tailpipe and def tank in place. Both companies make straight through resonators also. The muffler I put on was $90 so the price is right too.

I have had great results running flopro twister mufflers as resonators. A twister mounted up stream of the stander flopro mufflers really cuts the cummins drone down, should work great on the Dmax too

This is a 4" exhaust, but I installed this Donaldson muffler along with a flopro twister muffler for a customer last week who wanted a quiet exhaust. It was very quiet.

Looks alot like my truck. Can't imagine how quiter it would be with the twister also. I was going to use a Nelson resonator also but changed my mind.

This is the one ill be getting if the drone ever gets to me. From all my googling it sounds like you'll keep all the "other sound" but lose the drone. But like these guys are saying, I'm sure they all work.
