With the El Camino being a LBZ, I decided to have Socal convert our LB7 to a LBZ.

The engine went to Guy for a thorough once over after the National Points winning 2012 season. So while it was apart he changed it over. This way we have a constant between the two race trucks and can carry/diagnose problems quicker with less parts needed.

Also I have always wanted to clean up the engine bay and the injector swaps will be quicker.

Can't wait to see what she does with an LBZ, also curious to see what your feedback is after the season comparing LB7 to LBZ in the same platform.

Wow, the LBZ swap turned into a nightmare. The race truck is a 2002 LB7 and the LBZ swap is not a nice plug and play on the 2002. After some major headaches and rewiring, it is running but not driven yet. Hopefully a couple parking lot launches work well and it'll be off to Texas for a long distance test and tune with Andrea driving this truck for the first time.

Why did you want to slow it down going to a LBZ?

Also I have always wanted to clean up the engine bay and the injector swaps will be quicker.

And more often lol!:roflmao:
