Hi all. I am fabbing a CAI box. Not to familiar with diesel tendencies
04.5 LLY
MAP location, do I put this the narrowest part of the intake which is 4"
truck has LBZ mouthpiece with 4" elbows and strait pipe. I was thinking in the straight tube between the elbows or close to the OEM location. Trying to fab something that wont throw a code without tricking the sensor.
Also seems the sensor must get a ton of heat in it's current location

Looking for thoughts before I make her.

:)

Are you switching from a stock intake to this fabbed 4" intake? If so, you will need to have the sensor rescaled no matter where you put the sensor.

If you currently have a 4" intake and are just switching to your own home made 4" intake then you shouldn't need to do anything to "trick" the sensor.

If the pipe diameter is different than your old intake then you will need it rescaled or the truck will run like absolute crap.

This is the intake I fabbed myself a few weeks ago. Goes from the 4" lbz mouth piece to full 5" all the way to the filter where It then transitions to 6". I went from an old 4" AFE intake and my maf had to be rescaled big time. I couldn't hardly drive the truck because of how far off the maf reading was with the 5" pipe vs the old 4" intake. But I just called my tuner and told what was up and 10 minutes later I had my new tune and truck runs perfect again.

Thanks mike!!
Have no code issue right now with 4" tube right now.
What I want to do is pull air from cooler location away from the engine bay. was thinking of ducting air from under the truck somewhere.

That thing is a monster you have looks great. I'm not going to make HP with mine just trying to get it run cool as possible. Going up to Big BEar here 8000ft at a crawl in summer with no humidity really heats her up when the engine fan kicks in

Are these the basic 5volt sensors?
