Prob a dumb question but how do you get the over head map light lenses out/off to replace the bulbs? Does the whole assembly have to come off the headliner?

If i remember correct just take the phillips head Screw out and theres 2 snap clips that it hangs from gently pull it down and i think the bulb access is from the back.

iirc all you need is a flat blade screwdriver and pop the clear lens out.

i tried to pop the lens off but theres no place to get a good spot its kinda recessed & flushed

Mine has one screw up front, the rear is held in by clips like mentioned by blk smoke only way for me to change the map light, mine has the dual eye ball lights

maybe the gmc's are different than the chevy's. i just went out and popped mine out and took the bulb out.
