As I've been researching oval tubing and oval to round transitions for downpipes, I stumble onto a lot of ricer sites. I have to admit, many of their ideas could be modified for use by the Dmax community. This one outlined what it took for a guy to build his own headers. I now have a greater appreciation for what Rick has to do to mock up the Dmax ones.

Just thought it was interesting.

I'm not much for the ricers. But you do have to give them kudo's. They do have some pretty awesome tech for there cars that you could apply to other vehicles.

I made a turbo header for my trail rig w/1.8 Isuzu diesel last year. Had the plans drawn out with ironcad at school (didnt take an hour because I knew there was no possible way to make the runners equilength and still have it fit in a samurai's engine bay), then built the header when I came home over christmas break. Just weld-els and flat stock, had my uncle cnc plasma out the turbo flanges. Milled the block flange. I'd like to make some custom headers similar to this for my dmax, but I think I'm going to be making one for a cummins before I get to try a set.

I have great appreciation for anyone who builds things like this. IMO, it takes a hell of a lot of skill.

Anyone want to teach me how to weld? It would solve a lot of my time issues.
