What style weights are you using? 3x3 box tubing slid into the front frame rails (with the tow hooks removed) notched on the top so that it goes under the cross tube. Come out, turn it up to the height that you want and then put a plate or box tube across that you weights will fit on.

Just start building it, and fab it as necessary- shouldnt be too difficult.

GOOD LUCK -Steven

I guess, I am going to take the front ARP bumper off, i don't think im allowed to hang weight that far off the front of my truck.. I guess I would need put the stock bumper back on.. Then make a rack that would mount into the Hook slot..
If i were allowed to hang the weight off the front of my ARB bumper, it would be very simple. My ARB has 2 rings on each side of the winch, they can be taken off and would be very simple to fab a rack that way...

Mine measures 22 3/4 out by 10 1/4 upward. Measured from the bottom/front. the notch is 3" long by 1 1/2" deep. It took 66" of 3" square tubing and 30" of whatever you brace with/ 35" hang weight from. Most suggest 1/4" wall for the 3" but mines 3/16.

You should have looked at mine. I got receiver hitchs welded into the place the tow hooks went. You could use the arp bumper if you can find a way to hang the weights on the inside of it

Fwiw I've seen a lot of weight hung on a simple "slide in tow hook brush guard" I think its very doable if you can meet regulations (60 inchs usually). On another note, don't mean to hijack but whats all this talk of welding reese style extensions on your truck? You can do the same and look much cleaner on a factory 3x3 channel setup and still get nice resale value out of the truck if/when you decide to resale...

Mine is pretty much like JD4440 has, uses the bolt holes that the tow hooks come out of. 3" tubing fits the chassis perfect. Mine is close to the bumper, works well with IH weights, I would have to take off the bumper for JD weights. Congrats on the win the other night, my old man came in 2nd. Maybe I'll have my truck back together for the next pull, and I'll see you in the Mod class.

Thanks man, that was my second pull we drove out 3 hours for that pull it was well worth it. My buddy is trying to find a driveshaft right now, and he cant wait to get back up there on the 20th. I tried to pull in both Mod and stock class but they wouldn't let me. I got a lot of work ahead of me at the seafood market over the next 3 weeks, if I can find time to build a weight rack i am definitely going to pull in the mod class.

Oh, forgot to add mine holds 1400lbs of IH weights. Would hold more of the skinny JD weights if you could find enough of them

even without a weight rack you still should pull mod.

I need to start looking for some weights and then build a rack soon before the next pull.. My bumper is not as heavy as it looks, and without weight it would hurt my numbers. Im going to need everything i can get pulling against your 7.1 :thumb: ..
