Hauling my 5,000+ lb truck camper (in the bed) over a couple hundred miles this winter hasn't worried me, untill now. This will be my first long haul, 2,000 miles, 1st summer trip, and probably heavier since I'm moving and will really load the TC down. Should I add one of them Mag-Hytec covers for cooling and extra capacity? They are not cheap at $275+tax+more fluid+shipping. I also asked on DP forum, but think you all are a bit smarter.

well every little bit helps. i know i've done a few where the paint was started to flake off the cover b/c of the heat. it's one of those mods that you'll do but never notice a difference on, yet needs to be done. kinda like the ds manifold. oh and they are cheaper than 275:rolleyes:

I think they help a lot.
Remember the diff fluid should be changed at the first 5K miles. factory fill is break in fluid and should be dumped.

I bought mine due to the amount of towing I do, 30-40 weekends with a 10k lb trailer. I feel much better with 7.5 qts of Amsoil gear oil in there rather than the 4 qts it used to have. I would do it and I would shop around I got mine for 249.00 in a package deal before the end of the year.
