I put an AEM CAI on a while back and I know this is going to change the air flow drastically compared to stock I'm sure. I understand this could possibly cause a lean condition. Does the MAF sensor need to be recalibrated and if so how do I go about doing this. And at what values? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

From what I have learned on here and at school that as long as the new CAI is not larger than the stock tube running from the filter to the intake to the turbo that no recalibration is needed.

IRC the AEM CAI is not larger but I could be wrong.

Ok I guess that would make sense, it is a metal tube not sure if that makes a difference.

I've never road in one that needed re-calibrated but I hear that they run like absolute crap and have absolutely no power what so ever. So as long as that is not the case I would say that you are completely fine.

I wouldn't think that build material would affect this in any way.

The only way to know if it needs adjustments is to log MAF. It should read 40 gr/sec at idle and 400-500 at WOT. If less than 35 you will feel it start to be sluggish.
