Anyone have any input on a maf delete for a pull truck? The maf sensor was deleted when I got the truck (remote mount turbo set up) seems to very finicky getting it to spool off the line, I have read good and bad things about deleting them. Does anyone have first hand knowledge about this? 2004 lly

It's finicky because you can grossly over fuel it very easily. You can run it that way fine but it will be up to you to spool it.

I was told by my tuner you are better off keeping it on a auto truck. I mounted mine in the velocity stack.

What he said. Delete the MAF and it's all up to you and how hard you mash the go pedal as to how much fuel it gives it. You take away all the ECM's control of controlling fueling and maintaining any sort of air fuel ratio, so it's now up to you to watch the boost, EGT, and look out your mirror to watch the smoke.

Do you run a maf sensor In your truck?
Yes I do. But when I was pulling I had it tuned out anyway. But I've spooled my truck probably 1000+ times. Have a pretty good feel for what it likes....lol.

But a properly tuned truck, with a functioning maf will drive and spool much easier and quicker then one without. I just didn't like giving up the control when sled pulling.

I watched your videos 04jimc. Did your truck any harder to get spooled up with no maf vs having a maf?

It gets easier to flood it out, which stalls turbine momentum out on these big chargers. In theory with a maf equipped truck, you could floorboard it and wait til it spooled. With no maf, you will get full fueling immediately and never spool if you floor it like that. You have to caress the turbo to light with throttle input with no maf. Those vids are us running a 3.6" turbine charger with a larger a/r
