I'm looking for machine shops in Colorado that I can take my block and heads to for a decent price. I've always used AMS in Fort Collins but that was for my SBC/BBC stuff. Not sure how much diesel stuff they've done. And on my last build they didn't clearance my block correctly for my stroker kit. So I'm curious on any other machine shops in Colorado.
I've gotten a quote from Mountain High Performance which is out of Arvada. They look to specialize in Dmax/Powerstroke/Cummins engines, however the email quote I received mentioned that a torque plate hone was not needed because my engine wasn't a 'race only' engine that needs the rings broken in immediately. Said it's still the best way but more so of a luxury that is usually not needed. They also said a main cap hone is not recommended either as it can cause issues with cam/crank correlation, and that the warning on the main stud kit is more so just a disclaimer.
Just curious as to anyone's input on this, and any local Colorado people that could point me to a good machine shop.
