So after stripping or breaking 5 of the 9 stainless steel bolts i took out of my up-pipes, it is clear to me GM doesn't use any sort of anti-seize compound. I'm thinking I probably should though when I put these back in.

So what do you guys use?

I was thinking of using either nickel-cote or moly-lube when I put them back in.

I just use standard anti seize ,the silver stuff ........................................ when i have some ........................ ,most of the time they go back in with out , but after breaking a bolt of in my ped a few weeks back i will probably be a bit more diligent

you can try it if you want but on Stacey David's Gearz (the TV show) they have a shop trick section and a couple episodes ago the trick was to use regular ol liquid antacid (maalox) as antiseize. Claim it even works on exhaust manifold stuff as it won't burn off.

I use anit seize a good bit so I bought a giant bottle of off-brand maalox to try it out! Heck of a lot cheaper and a friend has verified that it works. :thumb:

Take it for what it's worth!! :beer
