The truck only seems to wanna make 50 psi total boost. started looking at rail press and its only commanding 23,xxx and making 18-21,xxx. Why would it only be commanding 23,000? Is that in the tuning i have or fuel pump related. Thanks

a stock lb7/lly reg is set in the tuning to run a desired of 23k. You can change the tuning of it to hit a desired of 26k but i couldnt tell ya how. trent tuned mine this way

Why don't you check the tune that you wrote

:poke:

The commanded being 23k is tuning related, but if you raise it, you still won't be getting more than the 18-21k you're getting right now unless you make some other changes.

I did tune my stock motor 3 years ago! A lot has changed since then just not my sig:thumb: A friend of mine with more knowledge than me on twin trucks is helping me get the bugs worked out of my motor/wastegate before tony @ ridgerunner tunes it! I am no tuner and am not about to attempt to tune a built motor with injectors and big twins:rolleyes:

What else was changed in the tune? If your truck is commanding 23k and only making 20k, the regulator should be doing everything it can to build up to 23k. The only way it wouldn't is if you had something misadjusted in the regulator current table. If you changed nothing other than desired rail pressure, I don't see how it is possible for your rail pressure to go up. I know I have seen a few LB7 and LLY trucks that threw low rail pressure codes because the truck was commanding 26-27k psi of rail pressure, but were only making 20k. I dropped the commanded to a more reasonable 23-24k, and they stopped throwing the codes but maintained the same actual rail pressure as before.

You really shouldn't have any issues with rail pressure if you have twin cp3's. If you do there is a bigger problem. Either you are putting too much fuel in which given your boost levels I don't think you are or there is an internal leak via injectors or pressure relief valve popping. The pressure has to go somewhere.

Well its different tuning than what i ran before (ran mike meyers tuning on my stock turbo, using trents now for the twins) when i was hitting lower rail pressures but the pw is still 2900-3100 like i ran before and i know its hittin those pw according to my logs. Must be more to the tuning than im seein in the logs i guess.
