Good morning to all. I have just recently purchases an 01 Silverado, rock stock, 4x4, 6.6 and just love to drive it. I have noticed however, that when I start up, the ammeter wil stay around 12.5 volts for about 30 seconds, then climb to 14+ over about 3 seconds. Is this normal? Others have said don't worry about it. But if it is a problem it needs fixed before winter. Has new sealed batteries. Replace regulator? Bad grounds perhaps? Have another beer and forget about it? What are your thoughts? Thanks Ed

My 02 does the same thing and I was told it was the glow plugs. Just keep an eye on it. If it stays around 12.5 for too long then you may have a problem.
