Posting this hoping someone else has ran into a similar problem and knows the quick fix for it.

06 lbz crew short.

Long story shirt had the cab off to install studs and a few other go fast goodies. Ever since when you don't have the wheel turned about 1/4 turn left the cluster will partially shut down.

Speedo and tach still work everything else quits. Security light comes on along with battery light.

Checked all the connections at the fuse block and didn't help any. Funny thing is I drove it the other day about 10 miles and it didn't give me any fits.

Got to be a plug in somewhere throwing me for a loop.

Thanks in advance guys!

I had a 2013 Tahoe that would honk the horn at random times while driving.. Finally traced it down to a chaffed wire that was rubbing on the horn bracket around the airbag. Ground the edge of the bracket and put some tape on the bare wire and all was well..

When you lifted the cab did disconnect the steering shaft, if you did disconnect the shaft was the steering wheel tied in place so to not spin and damage the SIR ribbon wire otherwise called a clock spring in the steering wheel?

Also no airbag light at any time and the horn works.

We had nothing in the cab unplugged just under hood.

Did you get your ground from the left hand head to the firewall hooked back up? Have seen those cause all kinds of issues with the cab electronics.

Just looked, it's not attached. I'll do that and report back.

As soon as you mentioned that I remembered I had an lly I fought with some weird issues. Ended up being the cab ground to engine..

Thanks!!
